Hair Tie Storage Ring

Hair Tie Storage Ring

My wife frequently styles her hair in a ponytail and has an abundance of Scunci loops. They are disorganized, making it difficult for her to locate the right one. Storing them in a drawer is ineffective because she would have to constantly dig through them to find what she needs. Displaying them on a pole is also impractical since inevitably she will need to remove half of the scuncis from the pole to access the one she wants. I believe a ring would be the most logical solution, so I designed this (complete with stylish hook) taking into account my wife's hair storage challenges. I divided it into 4 parts in an effort to make it fit on a standard-sized print bed. It will require assembly through gluing after printing and an M5 pan-head bolt and nylock nut to secure the hinge together. While commending myself on my ingenious design and mastery of Fusion 360's joint feature, I realized that I had simply re-created the Shower Curtain Ring, but on a larger scale. I couldn't help but feel a sense of disappointment. Edit: March 19 (V7) - I added a draft for the nut and bolt features, making them deeper, and tweaked the profile around the hinge. I also added a radius to the sawtooth split points to simplify the gluing process. Print Settings Printer Brand: Prusa Printer: Prusa Clone Rafts: No Supports: Yes Notes: Supports will be necessary for the impressions of the nut and bolt, or for the hinge flat, depending on how you orient the hinge parts during printing. I incorporated 5 degree drafts for the nut and bolt features to make it easier to remove supports if used.
