Hair strainer for floor level shower drains (TECE Drainline)

In two brand-new floor-level showers, no hair catchers were installed in the drain gutters. As a result, long hairs and other debris periodically clogged the drains, making cleaning a chore. The manufacturer's hair catcher, available through Google as the "Tece Haarsieb Drainline 660005," requires a hook to remove it from the drain. Not wanting this setup, I created my own version of a hair strainer to fit on top of the drain gutter. This DIY design features a handle for easy removal and cleaning. I initially tested it in the shower used by guests, which is not frequently used. For our family shower, however, I designed another strainer that requires less maintenance (see link below).
