So I was about to head out with my girlfriend when she realized her hair bobbles were all gone. While she frantically searched through the drawers, I whipped up a "first working prototype" in no time, which got printed just before we left. My 3D-Printer came to the rescue once again! Almost... the material (TPU) was too soft, the print quality was subpar, and the design was far too thin. It didn't even make it out of the building. A quintessential tale of 3D-printing. That got under my skin, and I spent some time tweaking the design and experimenting with different materials. Now it works like a charm and lasts almost as long as the commercial ones. Two designs are kind of usable; pick which one fits your needs. I also uploaded a blocky-version that I haven't printed yet... but I think it looks pretty sharp, so give it a try. It's a bit finicky to print. For some tips, check out the print-settings-section.
