Hafted Knife. XCB-105-3126. 400 BCE-100 CE XCB-105 Adamagan, named for its association with walrus hunters, is situated at the head of Morzhovoi Bay on western Alaska Peninsula. This massive village was home to multiple occupations. Occupied from 400 BCE to 100 CE, it stood as the largest Arctic village, boasting an estimated 1000 inhabitants. Other limited occupations date back to 2200-1700 BCE, 1000-600 BCE, and 900-1100 CE. Western Alaska Peninsula artifacts were collected through research supported by NSF grants 9630072, 9814086, 9996372, 9996415, 1139266, and 1321411. H. Maschner led this investigation as Principal Investigator. The artifacts were scanned using a Faro Edge Arm or Minolta Vivid 9i scanner. Processing was done in Geomagic or Polyworks, with 2-8 photos used to create texture in Geomagic Wrap. Digitizing work began at the IVL on Id. St. Univ., with subsequent processing and publication completed by Global Digital Heritage.
