Hafted Knife. XCB-105-2889. 400 BCE-100 CE XCB-105 Adamagan leads the way as the largest village in the Arctic during its peak occupation from 400 BCE to 100 CE, boasting an estimated population of 1000 people. Located at the head of Morzhovoi Bay on the western Alaska Peninsula, Adamagan was a massive village with multiple occupations. While it was occupied from 2200-1700 BCE, 1000-600 BCE, and 900-1100 CE, its peak period saw an estimated 1000 residents. Research grants NSF 9630072, NSF 9814086, NSF 9996372, NSF 9996415, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411 supported the investigation under Principal Investigator H. Maschner. Scans were captured using either a Faro Edge Arm or a Minolta Vivid 9i. Processing took place in Geomagic or Polyworks, with 2-8 photos utilized for texture in Geomagic Wrap. Original digitizing work was conducted at the IVL at Id. St. Univ., while subsequent processing and publication were completed at Global Digital Heritage.
