Hafted Knife. XCB-105-2030. 400 BCE -100 CE XCB-105 Adamagan, named after the Aleut word for walrus hunters' place, is situated at the head of Morzhovoi Bay on the western Alaska Peninsula. At its peak occupation from 400 BCE to 100 CE, it was a massive village with multiple industries and supported an estimated population of 1000 people. The site also exhibits limited occupations dating back to 2200-1700 BCE, 1000-600 BCE, and 900-1100 CE. The Western Alaska Peninsula artifacts were produced through research grants NSF 9630072, NSF 9814086, NSF 9996372, NSF 9996415, NSF 1139266, NSF 1321411. H. Maschner served as Principal Investigator for these projects. The artifacts were captured using either a Faro Edge Arm or a Minolta Vivid 9i scanner. Subsequent processing was done in Geomagic and Polyworks software, with 2-8 photos used to create texture in Geomagic Wrap. Initial digitizing work took place at the IVL laboratory on the campus of Id. St. Univ., while subsequent analysis and publication were completed by Global Digital Heritage staff.
