Hafted Drill Bit. XCB-105-1993. 400 BCE-100 CE Adamagan, a massive village with multiple occupations, is situated at the head of Morzhovoi Bay on the western Alaska Peninsula. During its occupation from 400 BCE to 100 CE, it was the largest village in the Arctic, boasting an estimated population of 1000 people. Limited occupations are also dated back to 2200-1700 BCE, 1000-600 BCE, and 900-1100 CE. Western Alaska Peninsula artifacts were obtained through research conducted under grants NSF 9630072, NSF 9814086, NSF 9996372, NSF 9996415, NSF 1139266, NSF 1321411. H. Maschner served as Principal Investigator. These artifacts were scanned using either a Faro Edge Arm or a Minolta Vivid 9i. Processing was done in Geomagic or Polyworks. Two to eight photos were used for texture in Geomagic Wrap. Original digitizing work was completed at the IVL at Id. St. Univ., with subsequent processing and publication finished at Global Digital Heritage.
