Hacked Servo Pot Frame with Rack and Pinion for Linear Feedback
thingiverse
Hack the servo for continuous rotation by removing the pin on the main gear and rewire the pot so it's outside the servo. Install the gear into the frame. Next, install the rack gear into the frame, making sure the hole side of the gear faces outwards. Then, insert the potentiometer into the frame and secure it in place with the clip. Be aware of the potentiometer's position relative to the rack gear's travel range. Properly adjusted, you should achieve around 50mm of linear movement. Print the assembly using support material set to 2.5mm thickness, mainly for the pot cavity on the main frame. A single gear is sufficient, being a remix of Gael Langevin's InMoov elbow gear scaled up by 9.5% (scale factor 109.5).
