HackBoy: Retro Gaming 8Bitdo Zero phone case

A Smartphone Gamer's Dream: No Need for RetroPie! You Already Have It All in Your Pocket! No need to fiddle with custom hand-wired portable devices like RetroPie when you've got a smartphone that can do it all. For retro emulator gaming, I searched far and wide for a portrait-mode controller phone case, but none existed. So, I took matters into my own hands and designed a custom sleeve for my OnePlus 3T phone that snaps in perfectly with the Bluetooth 8Bitdo Zero gamepad. The controller is securely fastened with tabs, and the phone stays put thanks to good old gravity. The case has ports on the bottom that grant access to the phone's charge port, speaker, headphone jack, and status LED on the 8Bitdo Zero. You can still charge the gamepad through the micro-USB port on top without removing it from the case. The phone sleeve opening measures 77mm x 9mm, fitting my OnePlus 3T in its plastic case perfectly. However, this design should also accommodate other devices of similar size (Samsung, Apple, Google). To ensure a perfect fit, please measure your phone before ordering. If there's enough interest, I might consider adding more custom fits for popular devices. The 8Bitdo Zero is easily available on Ebay for around $12 or Amazon for a little more if you want it sooner. Room for Improvement: While pressing the L and R buttons isn't too bad as-is, I'd love to see them relocated to the back. Perhaps someone with more advanced Fusion 360 skills could create a lever system that presses the buttons on top of the gamepad. Alternatively, you could wire new buttons directly onto the PCB of the 8Bitdo. After cracking it open, I found it's not too complicated a task.
