HACKBMTH Polargraph

HACKBMTH Polargraph

thingiverse

This creator built a Polargraph during HACKBMTH 2013 at REDWEB, using materials such as stepper motors from an Epson Stylus 600 printer, a dual stepper shield from iTead Studios, an Arduino Uno, string, and spanners. The Polargraph was 3D-printed with designs made onsite and featured a whiteboard as the drawing surface, suspended pen using string, and 3D-printed motor mounts, gondola, and spools from Thingiverse. Despite limited time for calibration, it successfully drew a square. The motor mount design is specific to Epson steppers but can be easily altered due to its parametric scad file. Control software and firmware are available on Polargraph's website. HackBMTH details are found at hackbmth.org.
