First in German, English Version follows when I've overcome my laziness. Hack the Pandemic! - Not exactly. I needed something that would take 12 cm hair down to 4 cm. That's not possible with regular barber combs since the hair would be lying flat. These combs only work up to 30 mm precisely. So, I had to mimic the work of a hairstylist who takes in the hair, trims it, and then cuts it. The next intake overlaps, so the previous cut serves as a reference. The adapter replicates this behavior. A vacuum cleaner handles the intake, just like the well-known Flow***. However, the hair is fed in front of the cutting head and trimmed straight off. Since shears work up to 30 mm precisely, I calculated a base length of 7.9 mm: 3.0 mm holder for adapter +1.2 mm wall thickness +3.7 mm base plate of the hairstylist. Depending on the design and construction of your hairstylist, you'll get different values. However, that doesn't matter since you can adjust the adapters accordingly. The adapters work with a 15 mm intake, which is freely configurable. How thin you want to cut is also up to you. I've had good experiences with 9.2 mm, but make sure the cutting head protrudes 3-4 mm into the airflow. 6mm should be fine, or it will get crowded. There's one adapter with continuous intake (8mm, window). This way, you can move back and forth like with a regular hairstylist. Advantage: if you turn the device, you'll cut longer hair. You can then correct your mistake. Without this adapter, you approach the device from above or the side. The hair will be trimmed to length as soon as the device is placed on it. If your hairstylist is good, you won't even notice. The angled attachments are for the ears and neck. I've already run into trouble with contour cutting! With these, it's much better. Then, adjust the transition with a straight attachment. The first 7 adapters should suffice for anything between 8 and 62 mm. If not, simply print what you need. What else do you need: * Hairstylist (mine is a Moser 1400, so all files are configured) * 2 x adhesive tape (e.g. cable ties), 26 cm each, depending on the vacuum cleaner adapter * Vacuum cleaner First: If your printer isn't calibrated yet, print a test cube and set the stepping for the Z-axis accordingly: Z-Soll/Z-Ist*Stepping Do the same for X and Y. The printing parameters are in the respective OpenScad file. The plastic I mentioned is just an example. It worked for me, but any other plastic should work too. The vacuum cleaner adapter takes the longest (5-6 hours), while the rest prints in 90 minutes each. You only need a snipper. Find it according to your vacuum cleaner model. In the file, you can also adjust all necessary parameters, including the angle for the vacuum cleaner adapter. Copy these values into the snipper file as well, since the first section's angle is needed there. At Z. 144-146, you'll need to check the fixation. I didn't make it parameterizable since I don't know your hairstylist's shape. You'll need to adjust that manually. Z. 119-122 contains a second fixation that I didn't use. If you need it, uncomment it. Hair dries! Vacuum cleaner and water don't mix! Attach the correct adapters to the snipper. Place the snipper on the hairstylist, insert the vacuum cleaner adapter into the snipper, and fix everything with adhesive tape at the hairstylist. If there are problems because the hairstylist is too smooth, double-sided tape on the underside will help. Insert the vacuum cleaner into the vacuum cleaner adapter, plug everything in, and start cutting hair. Have fun with this thing!
