M.N. Gowri Brings Mysore to Life with Permanent Sand Sculptures. M.N. Gowri's dream has finally come true as she showcases her incredible sand sculptures in Mysore, a city known for its stunning beaches and rich cultural heritage. "Sand sculptures are typically fleeting, displayed on beaches for a short time," explains this talented young artist. "But what I've achieved here is something truly remarkable – a permanent museum of sand sculptures, sheltered from the harsh elements of sun and rain." Upon entering the museum, visitors are greeted by an imposing 15-foot tall sand statue of Lord Ganesh, an iconic symbol of good fortune and prosperity. The exhibit is filled with an array of breathtaking sculptures, each one meticulously crafted using only sand and water. In addition to these natural materials, Gowri has employed a small amount of glue to create more complex vertical compositions. Some of the museum's highlights include Goddess Chamundeshwari, Laughing Buddha, Dasara procession, the late Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar seated on his throne during the grand festival, zodiac wheel, 'Gitopadesha' featuring Lord Krishna and Arjuna riding a horse-drawn chariot, ancient civilizations, marine life, Disneyland, Islamic culture, Christmas tree, Santa Claus, and wildlife.
