H7 headlight lamp removal tool for Renault Megane II (and possible other cars.) Removing the headlight lamp in a Megane can be a real challenge. You have to insert your arm through a hatch in the wheelhouse to reach the lamp, but you can't see what you're doing and it's hard to move your hand. The lamp is also held firmly in place by two springs, making it almost impossible to remove by hand. So I decided to create a tool that would make this job easier, and it worked far better than I expected. In addition to the plastic parts, you will need: two 2.5 mm2 (blue) cable shoes two short (5mm) M3 screws two long (35mm) M3 screws two springs a pair of pliers an M3 tap and a cordless drill to make threading easier. Here's how to build the tool: First, print the plastic parts with thick walls. Next, remove the blue plastic from the cable shoes. Hold the round part of the cable shoe firmly with pliers and use the tap to thread the hole. The cable shoe may split slightly, but don't worry - just squeeze it back together with pliers and you'll have enough thread for the screw to stick. Then, use the tap to make threads for the long screws in the bottom/base part of the tool. Now, insert the cable shoes into the top/lamp holder part and secure them with short screws. Finally, assemble the bottom and top parts with long screws and springs. Here's how to use the tool: Push the outer/lower part of the tool onto the lamp, pushing the springs that hold it in place. Then, push the center/top part onto the lamp's connector. Finally, simply pull the whole thing out.
