NEWS NEWS NEWS: managed to have a bunch of decals printed for these cars through the company I work for. Only this version (cockerill sambre charleroi), H0 scale and NOT including the large numbers, as I still had those from some airplane kit.If you want some send me pictures of your printed, built and painted torpedo car as well as your address and I'll send you some decals for free (until I run out of decals of course)H0 model of a torpedo ladle car as they ran around charleroi, Belgium between the 1970's and the late 1990's. Occasionally they left the charleroi basin for a trip on the main line to deliver some liquid metal to Chertal, which was to become their new home from 1998 onwards. With a bit of luck I'll make the modified Liege basin version as well... let's see what time and motivation will bring.Check out this link for an extraordinary collection of delicious pictures of these cars in service: http://rail-et-fer-en-gaume160.blogspot.com/2021_05_30_archive.htmlThis is a fairly complicated model, but some patience/perseverance and a decent resin printer should get you a pretty ok torpedo car. I haven't fully finished mine but the unpainted model seems to work fine so upload time it is. extra parts needed:6x M2 nuts6x M2 bolts 8 mm4x m2 bolts 4mm (or self-tapping screws of similar size)couplers. Kadee for NEM or standard H0 hook and loop.12x wheel set point bearing 10,5mm wheel diameter 24,5mm axle length. Bogies are a bit loose so depending on your printer slightly longer axles may fit as well.metal wire in various sizes. I used 0,25mm, 0,4mm and 0,6mm.Printing: My model was printed on a Phrozen sonic mini 8K. Printing was mainly set up for speed (because I wanted torpedo car NOW.), so all low parts together, oriented flat. Gave me a nice line through the chassis, so maybe you want to put the main chassis bits at an angle. In the meantime I was printing the 3 large ladle parts standing straight up on an anycubic photon because they didn't need to be super smooth and the anycubic was a bit faster.... went fine. As the anycubic "fattens" the parts quite a bit I designed those specific parts with this in the back of my mind so you may find them a bit loose when printed on a better printer. As my printing knowledge is limited at best I'll leave it at that, good luck!assembly:as a picture says more than 1000 words here you can find pictures, which should save me writing many words. I hope it's somewhat adequate.https://flickr.com/photos/floris_dilz/albums/72177720311603015some extra remarks: for my own torpedos I'm planning to use etched railings. When these are done I'll add the etch drawings as a dxf for those who'd like to have a go.. If you use the printed railings, I'd probably try to glue them very weakly so they just fall off instead of get shattered when hit, or use bison kit-like flexible glue maybe. When the decals are done I'll also add the vector file.Of course pics of the finished thing will be added when I have them.EDIT: pics added. Oh and of course feel free to let me know how you're doing with this model and/or send pics of the results!
