I've taken inspiration from various materials, mostly aluminum. This is my take on it, crafted from PLA to give it extra strength and stripped down to the essentials to save some space. Parts I used: M8 threaded rods, lock nuts, and screws 688 bearing (2X) 625 bearing (2x) KW12-3 limit switch (6X) - http://www.aliexpress.com/item/10-x-Roller-Lever-Arm-PCB-Terminals-Micro-Limit-Normal-Close-Open-Switch-KW12-3-FREE/1927323464.html PHSA8 ball joint - http://www.aliexpress.com/item/1pcs-8mm-SI8T-K-PHSA8-Right-Hand-Thread-Female-metric-Rod-End-Joint-Bearing/1342766510.html Any game controller to wire the switches together I also created a video showcasing and destroying this creation. Designing This Shifter I designed the shifter using Corel Draw and 3Ds MAX (sadly, my CAD skills still haven't caught up with this dynamic duo...) I have meshes and vector drawings available upon request.
