The UH-60 Black Hawk multirole helicopter serves with the U.S. military and 26 other countries worldwide as a tough, reliable utility helicopter that consistently delivers results. For 35 years, this versatile aircraft has flown into combat zones to extract troops, save lives, provide critical supplies, deliver emergency aid during natural disasters, and perform as an aerial firefighter and border patrol agent. The modern UH-60 Black Hawk variant is now taking on a new mission set, providing fire suppression when supporting ground troops and armed escort. With digital avionics, powerful GE engines, high-strength airframe structures, and composite wide-chord rotor blades, today's UH-60 platform offers better survivability, situational awareness, and the ability to fly higher and carry more than its predecessors. More than 3,000 UH-60 Black Hawk aircraft of all types are in service worldwide. The U.S. Army is the largest operator with 2,300 designated aircraft. Internationally sold direct from Sikorsky, these same aircraft acquire the S-70 designation.
