Gömböc
thingiverse
The author reverse-engineered the Gömböc using AutoDesk Photo Scene Editor on a series of 360-degree images from the official website. Although the resulting model may not be fully functional, it serves as a starting point for improvements or even spurring the Gömböc creators to publish its shape in the open literature. The author also received feedback from Prof. Gábor Domokos, one of the Gömböc's co-creators, who took issue with some statements made by the author but did not request removal of the file as it holds value for researchers interested in the Gömböc and mono-monostatic bodies. The commercial Gömböc shape has a U.S. design patent (#D614077), but its parameters have yet to be published in the open literature, preventing full verification of its unique properties.
With this file you will be able to print Gömböc with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Gömböc.
