Gyroscope (3D Printed)

Gyroscope (3D Printed)

thingiverse

This is a preliminary prototype of a 3D Printed Gyroscope, marking the first attempt at bringing this concept to life. Unfortunately, the rotor's spinning time would be significantly extended if it were heavier. The gyroscope was printed using dual nozzles, but a single nozzle can also be employed, provided that both the rotor and stator are printed simultaneously, as installing the rotor afterwards is not feasible. A raft is essential for the rotor to adhere properly to the build surface. Printing the End Caps separately is highly recommended due to their need for a raft. Components Required: 608ZZ bearings (2 units) 4-40 hex nut (8 units) 4-40x5/16 screw (8 units) or 4-40x1/4 screw (recommended) Resource Links: http://ericprints.blogspot.com/2017/01/gyroscope-3d-printed.html http://ericprints.blogspot.com/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v1t_lqR3RyA Print Settings: Printer: Prototype Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: 0.25mm Layer Infill: 20% Notes: Increasing Infill % can make the rotor spin longer, as a heavier material would achieve this result.
