Gyroid Less Travelled
thingiverse
The interweaving roads in this sculpture follow the concave “valleys” of the gyroid triply periodic minimal surface. There are actually two separate non-intersecting road networks. If you can’t get to where you’re trying to go, maybe the “road less travelled” is actually the wrong road. This is an advanced, support-intensive print that will require a lot of post-print cleaning, especially if printed on an FDM printer. The model pictured shows a matrix of 1.5 translation units in all directions. You will need to print two of “Gyroid Road (Bottom)” and one of “Gyroid Road (Top)” Glue them together carefully. “Gyroid Road Translation Unit” can be patterned infinitely in any direction.
