
Gyroid Infill Lampshade

This is a Lampshade that gets its distinctive design from the Cura Gyroid style infill, utilized with wall thickness set to zero and Infill line multiplier set at 4. The result is more pronounced and rigid Infill lines. The Infill percentage is set to 8% in this case, but can be adjusted to accommodate varying hole sizes. Fine-tuning settings like retracting between layers, preventing combing, and other adjustments may be necessary to achieve a cleaner print. The original shape is created by overlaying two torus shapes and subtracting the smaller one from the larger one using Windows 3D builder. A base plate is then added, followed by cutting a hole by subtracting a cylinder according to need. The lamp's top is printed separately with standard settings in black, achieved by subtracting a torus from a cylinder and removing another cylinder to create the correct-sized center hole. This design was made using a 40mm Ø center to fit an IKEA 'Hemma' hanging lamp fitting. P.S. One was recently printed with Glow-in-the-Dark PLA, resulting in a very cool effect where it glows after the light is switched off, as seen in one of the attached pictures.
