To maximize surface area for filter probiotics to grow, the ideal structure is clearly the gyroid. The diameter of internal voids and their relationship to the 25mm external dimension effectively minimize obstruction to the circulation of both water and air without causing clogging issues.\r\n\r\nI designed a cubic model using the gyroid infill formula differed with a sphere in OpenSCAD, which required some cleanup in MeshLab. Nevertheless, I am thoroughly pleased with the result.
