The Gyroflug SC 01 Speed Canard was an unusual sports plane made in Germany during the 1980s and 1990s. It was a canard-configured mid-wing monoplane featuring wingtip fins with integrated rudders, and it borrowed its two-seat tandem cockpit and canopy design from the Grob Twin Astir sailplane. The tricycle undercarriage sported a retractable nosewheel. Key performance specifications included a length of 4.70 meters, a wingspan of 7.77 meters, an empty weight of 440 kg, and a gross weight of 815 kg. Powering the aircraft was a single Avco Lycoming O-320-D1A engine delivering 120 kW (160 hp).
