GV Tyre Truer MKII for slot cars 1:32 scale
thingiverse
An upgraded version of my previous Tyre Truer is now ready to hit the tracks. The major overhaul is centered around the swing arm, which has eliminated the cantilever tyre design. I've also beefed up the pulleys and wheels, and taken a one-piece approach for the base to prevent any potential misalignments. Print Settings: Printer: K8400 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Doesn't Matter Constructional notes: The 80 mm long tyre shaft has an OD of 3/32" with three or four bronze bearings on one side flange only. The sanding wheel is a market component featuring a shaft OD of 6 mm and a sanding wheel OD of 25 mm. The register screw is a regular M3, 40 mm long, with the head turned down to less than 4 mm. The stop screw measures 25 mm in length and has an M3 thread. The motor boasts an OD of 28 mm, salvaged from scrap materials. Its motor shaft has an OD of 2 mm; you might need to adapt this to suit your available resources. My motor pulley is pressed into the shaft using brass. It's highly recommended that you have a set of reamers for precise holes and a set of threading taps in M3-M5 sizes on hand. To complete the assembly, you'll require around 30 mm of precise 5 mm rod for pivoting the swing arm. For the pulleys, use o-rings of suitable length to secure them in place. Now that everything is in order, get ready to enjoy some fast-paced slot car racing action!
