Slot cars in scale 1:32 and 1:24 require high-quality tyres that deliver superior performance. To achieve this, some components need to be beefed up. Printer Settings Printer: Velleman Vertex K8400 Notes: The standard tyre shaft is 3/32" with bronze bearings, featuring one side flange only. A market component sanding wheel boasts an OD of 6 mm and an approximate OD of 28 mm. The register screw is a regular M3, measuring 40 mm in length. Its head was turned down to nearly 4 mm for optimal performance. Motor design was born from a unique combination of parts, including a 28 mm motor shaft with a 2 mm diameter. The motor pulley is pressed into place and should be made from metal (brass material was used). A set of reamers ensured precise holes, while threading taps were employed to dress the threads where necessary. To pivot the swing arm, you'll need approximately 30 mm of precise 5 mm rod. An M5 screw was initially attempted but proved unnecessary due to added clearance. Three M4 screws, each measuring 12mm in length with V-shaped heads, are required to secure the vertical bearing and motor support. A NSR rim was used as a tyre shaft pulley for added strength. The sanding wheel bushing should be made from bronze bearing grade for optimal performance, although a printed version works fine temporarily.
