gutter cleaner

Please read before printing: This project requires extra work after printing. You'll need 80 grit sandpaper to smooth out the male end for a secure fit into the nozzle. I also had to apply a thin layer of super glue inside and out to seal the pours and prevent leaks. Additionally, I created a seal that fits inside the nozzle to ensure it doesn't leak between the main part and nozzle. Be aware that this project involves more work than meets the eye. I designed this tool to make cleaning gutters from the ground easy. It attaches to a telescopic tree branch trimmer and features a unique shape that allows you to scoop debris out of gutters while water jets wash away smaller particles down the downspout. I used 5mm wall thickness and 5 layers for bottoms and tops, with 40% infill, which may have been overkill but ensured it wouldn't break or leak. However, it still leaks like a sieve. Despite this, it works fine, and my plan is to coat the entire thing with epoxy to seal the pours. Unfortunately, it broke where the water hose screws on, likely due to rough handling during infill removal. I repaired it by bonding the broken part back together with solvent and wrapping carbon fiber around it. I also recommend using Plastruct Bondene instead of super glue for bonding styrene, ABS, and PLA materials. The end pipe can be removed and turned around to clean both right and left side gutter downspouts. Currently, mine fits securely, but if it ever becomes loose, I'll drill a hole for a screw. Additionally, a rubber seal needs to be cut to prevent leaks. Keep in mind that this print requires support, which is notoriously difficult to remove. If you have access to dual extruders with water-soluble support material, this would greatly simplify the process. As it stands, I've managed to get what I need out of it. If anyone wants to redesign and improve it, please feel free to do so. The threads used in this design were sourced from Thingiverse, but unfortunately, I forgot who originally created them (I'm sure they were intended for use). I did modify them slightly, and if you recognize the original design, please let me know. My hope is that this project will be helpful to someone else. Print Settings: * Supports: Yes
