Modeled in 3DS Max, I brought my Mecha design to life with precision and care. Quads were my go-to choice, but mesh translation did cause some sharp lighting angles - a minor setback that only added to the overall look. Sharp angles and basic colors are what make this Mecha truly stand out, drawing inspiration from the iconic Gundam. As a modern reference point for mechs, Gundam will always be the benchmark. Starting with a low-poly project allowed me to focus on creating sharp angles and an aerodynamic feel. However, I soon realized that more polygons would be needed to achieve the desired level of thinness and sharpness. The end result was well worth the extra effort - it took time, but the sense of accomplishment is priceless. This Mecha design has become a labor of love for me, and I'm eager to share my work with others. If you're interested in seeing the original model, feel free to reach out.
