Gundam inspired robot toy
cults3d
I designed this little gundam robot as a toy, not a real action figure. It's technically articulated, but its range of motion is restricted - and like all 3D printed joints, it won't hold any pose with certainty. Still, I think it's a lot of fun. To print it without supports, design the model in a way that no supports are needed at all. Just load the pre-prepared STL file and start printing. I printed mine at 0.18mm layers, with retraction and coasting enabled for optimal results. When removing the joints from the build plate, some may seem stuck together due to stringing. Don't worry - this is normal. A gentle push or pull should loosen them up easily. The pegs on this gundam robot can be a bit loose in some areas, while others might be a bit too tight. I fixed this by applying a small amount of super glue to hold the pegs in place securely.
