Gun Stock for the HTC VIVE for Onward.
thingiverse
Hello fellow VR enthusiasts! I'm a huge fan of VR Onward, and as an avid gamer, I designed this custom stock for my HTC VIVE. When shooting in-game, it's essential to have the cheek rest adjustable to fit various rifles, so I made sure that you can easily raise or lower it to perfectly align with your scope. To fine-tune the experience, you can add some rubber bands to adjust how much resistance you want when moving the cheek rest up and down. Additionally, the two controllers are designed to slide in and out, allowing you to customize the distance between them and your rifle sight, as well as your forehand grip. While it won't fit every rifle perfectly, this design is a great starting point. I prioritized ease of printing by designing the gun stock to be quick, affordable, and hassle-free. Simply print two controller holders (left and right are identical STL files), two butt stock bottoms, and one butt stock top. Don't forget to add support except for the "butt gun top" and "hooks." To enhance the overall experience, I included a hook under your trigger finger that allows you to hold your rifle loosely without worrying about it dropping. This hook is designed as a separate STL file to minimize support requirements; simply glue it in place after printing. For the iron pipe, choose any size you like – it's almost irrelevant. Add some rubber bands, and you're ready to go! For an even better experience, make the iron pipe slightly longer than where you place the front controller. This will improve balance and prevent the rifle from feeling too heavy in the back end. In-game, use the proximity grip feature in Onward, and when needed, simply rip out your controller. Put it back, and your character will automatically re-grasp their rifle.
