Gun Carrier Mark 1 1/35 Scale
thingiverse
I love the looks of Self Propelled Howitzers. This is a 1/35 model of the first Self Propelled Howitzer, the Gun Carrier Mk 1, developed during WW1. Some notes: 1 - The design has two driver cabins, you only have to have the left one, the second one is optional. 2 - The canopy is optional. Some WW1 equipment they included it for protection against grenades and the such. It obviously wouldn't have stopped a bomb or artillery shell, but hand thrown objects it could, not to mention providing a small amount of shade. 3 - I did include a file for the mesh on top of the optional canopy, but unless you are using a resin printer, I wouldn't fool with it, I have never figured out how to make it print properly with filament. If you are using filament and want to make the mesh top, I have found that you just need to start the mesh file, but make sure it is set to print on a raft. Let the raft print just two layers, it will print one layer diagonal one direction and the second layer perpendicularly. Stop after those two layers and you will have a nice mesh that you can see through. If you look at the photos of my HEMTT tractor, you can see it as that is what I did to make the deck grate. Revision 1 - Redid the wheel/track assemblies to have the wheel assemblies and tracks separate rather than 1 piece. Added a small gap between the wheels and the tracks and added rollers to the wheel assembly.
