guitar string dampener
thingiverse
I'm experimenting with a guitar string damper to produce dull or twangy tones, capo effects and even banjo-like sounds. To get it right on an electric guitar, I might need to tweak the base slightly, but this should work beautifully on an acoustic one. The feet are designed for elastic attachments on the base, which can be wedged or glued in place at a desired height. This design is still quite rough and unpolished, and from my STL models, it's clear there are errors, so I wouldn't recommend printing it yet unless you're skilled at repairs. For better banjo sounds, I'd suggest checking out the Guitar-Jo, which has more features to offer. You can find more information on their website: https://www.guitarjo.com/.
