Guitar String Action Gauge
thingiverse
A tool I crafted to simplify setting string action on electric guitars. High is .078" bass to .062" treble, providing ample room for precision tuning. Medium offers a balanced setup at .073" bass to .057" treble, ideal for most players. Low is set at .068" bass to .052" treble, accommodating those who prefer a more subdued tone. Notes: The loop on the model serves as a convenient stand, allowing the gauge to be printed upright. Simply trim the loop off when you're ready to use it. Instructions for Use: Slide the gauge under the strings at the 19th and 20th frets, with the thick end positioned under the bass strings and the thin edge under the treble strings, just as shown in the accompanying picture. Adjust the bridge until the strings barely touch the top of the gauge. To do this, hold the gauge firmly against the fretboard and alternate between adjusting the bridge and tapping the strings gently against the gauge until you detect a slight gap between the gauge and the string.
