Guitar Slide Holder for Mic Stand
thingiverse
This is a holder that clips onto your microphone stand and allows one-finger access to your steel guitar slide, thanks to an embedded magnet! Perfect for when you need to quickly grab -and quickly get rid of- your slide mid-song.The magnet holds the slide from the outside, which means you simply slip your finger into the slide and pull sideways to break it away. To get rid of the slide, slap it into the holder and slide your finger straight up and out of the slide. This is sized to clip onto mic stands that are about 3/4" in diameter. If there's a demand for other sizes, let me know here and I'll be happy to make a different version. You will need a neodymium disc magnet, 3/8" x 3/16". The magnet should press into the pocket from the mic-stand side. If it does not, briefly heat the pocket with a small torch to slightly soften it before pressing the magnet in. There are two versions here. The Mk2-V3 version has pockets for two magnets, I found that to be far too secure of a hold and ended up using only one magnet. The Mk3 is the updated version with a pocket for just one magnet.
