Guitar Pickup Button Adapter V1--OBSOLETE SEE V2

UPDATE: The little retainer kept getting lost or broken constantly. Redesigns ensued, focusing on eliminating the retainer altogether while making it significantly smaller and lighter. GOTO: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2974683 This is a versatile adapter specifically designed for a guitar pickup button. Usually, due to the 1/4" (6mm) plug for the guitar cable going through the middle, the outer diameter of the strap button ends up much larger than normal, which makes using a standard guitar strap a real hassle. One solution is to cut the button hole bigger or utilize an adapter like this one. Several commercial options are available, but many users will find this design adequate, strong, and remarkably easy to use. I've worked through several iterations so far. This version still needs refinement, with improvements aimed at streamlining the locking clip and making it easier to use without getting lost in the first place. To install successfully, simply slip the larger circle over the pickup button and gently pull until the smaller diameter is seated properly within the pickup button. Next, ensure the small protrusion faces upwards as you squeeze the locking clip to close the gap; push the pointed end down into the larger hole, as depicted. With the entire clip fully inserted into its designated slot, release the tension in the clip and it should sit securely, refusing to fall out. This design was intended to fit the pickup button on a Fender 12 string guitar. However, it may be suitable for most pickups with similar configurations. Please share any feedback regarding minor adjustments that could make it more versatile for other pickups with slightly different designs. As far as my research goes, they are mostly consistent in terms of dimensions. Before proceeding with installation, ensure your pickup is firmly secured down by screws to avoid any mishaps. I had to remove the strings and carefully guide the pickup back through the sound hole to adjust the inner nut on my Fender 12 string - not a task you'd want to tackle often, especially when dealing with a 12 string. Consider utilizing rubber strap locks in conjunction with this setup for added stability. As a safety precaution, always test your work before actually using it. Weak parts could easily lead to unfortunate mishaps, like having the guitar suddenly crash to the floor. The chosen material for printing is Gizmo Dorks' transparent ABS, known for its strength and reliability. To achieve optimal results, consider slow printing at a moderate speed, and use either 50% or 100% fill ratio. This design was created using specific print settings - 0.5mm nozzle on a Taz 4 printer with a 0.2mm layer height, accompanied by a 60% cooling factor that activates after 5 layers.
