Guitar Picks
thingiverse
This is a set of three guitar picks designed specifically as a Christmas gift for my friend. Two of the picks are identical and feature a bold script "music" with a stylized music note, while the third one remains blank. Unfortunately, I ended up breaking one during removal, so be cautious when handling these delicate items. To achieve precise results, you must scale these designs carefully to avoid any potential errors. When printing, lay them flat on your bed so that imprints appear correctly and are not distorted. To help guide the print, the dimensions of each pick can be set at: long dimension = 30mm, short dimension = 25mm, and height between .8mm and 1.3mm, depending on your desired flexibility level. The .8mm option provides an excellent feel when playing. When scaled correctly, these picks should match closely the dimensions of the standard 351 guitar pick design. You'll notice this style is incredibly popular due to its wide compatibility with almost any standard guitar holder, which I plan to upload in the coming days as well. For individuals who wish for their names rather than "music" on the pick, simply comment below and I'd be happy to create one custom tailored to your specifications. Alternatively, if you're familiar with inventor or other design software, you could try modifying this file yourself, offering endless creative possibilities in terms of custom designs. For a complete viewing experience, please check out some of my past creations, such as a sophisticated business card holder and the highly anticipated guitar pick holder, set to be released tonight. Thanks for taking the time to explore these offerings! **Print Settings** To get the best results, I recommend employing rafts, as they tend to reduce instances where prints may adhere too strongly to your bed surface. **Raft Settings:** Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: Preferably at .4mm or lower, especially when printing for high-quality imprints and details. A suggested starting point would be .2mm, but feel free to experiment further depending on your specific needs. **Infill Options** I suggest 100% infill, resulting in dense prints with crisp edges, ideal for designs like these guitar picks that benefit greatly from even density. **Additional Notes** Make sure you adjust the print bed angle correctly, so any potential marks don't appear skewed. Printing without rafts may cause adherence to your printing surface even at relatively high temperatures like 130 degrees Celsius. For exceptional print quality, it's essential to have a high resolution. For my more detailed designs that require sharp imprints and edges, .2mm is recommended as the standard setting, while less detailed picks can tolerate a slightly higher value such as .3mm for better efficiency. Feel free to push resolutions up to .4mm but expect a noticeable drop in detail if you do so.
