Guitar Neck Strap Button

This strap is for attaching a neck strap to your guitar, or any other stringed instrument. It matches the quality sold on eBay and those sold by Martin. Try it out before use! You're in charge here. I personally rely on Guitar Savers Premium Strap Locks from Amazon, but what really matters is strength and leather quality. I source my leather from second-hand belts found at thrift stores. The ideal thickness when folded should be no more than 1/4 inch. Genuine leather is generally the strongest and longest-lasting option available. Make sure it can withstand some flex without cracking. Opt for belts that are .75 inches wide to minimize cutting time; sharp scissors do the job just fine. For punching holes, I recommend using a hole punch from Harbor Freight – not the best, but sufficient. You may prefer using better punches at Michael's or on Amazon, though. Alternatively, you can sharpen one end of a steel or brass tube by creating a 45-60 degree bevel on its outer edge using a grinder.
