Hi friends, do you play acoustic guitar? Are you tired of breaking your family and friends' ears during guitar training? Welcome, you're like me! My poor quality playing is an ordeal for everyone around. So I decided to create a solution to end this torture. This kind of tool exists in shops but mine is made with low-cost materials except for the printer, which I assume you have. This tool lets you easily adjust the pressure on the strings and therefore the mute level. And very important if you love your guitar, it doesn't touch the table, eliminating the risk of damage. Here's what you need: * A kitchen sponge (you can try other more or less flexible materials) * A 30mm M3 nut and bolt * An elastic To make this tool, print the two parts. The part with the groove is the lower one, which will be near the guitar table. Cut the kitchen sponge to 20mm wide by 15mm high including the scraper for the higher part (see picture). Cut another piece of sponge to 10mm wide by 5mm high for the lower part. Once printed, I suggest embedding the head of the bolt into the print (see picture) to avoid any damage to your guitar. Insert the pieces of sponge (see picture). You can glue the small one in its groove (the one in the lower part), but it's not necessary for the other one. Then, adjust the distance between the two parts. This depends on the density of your kitchen sponge and the mute level you want to achieve. When everything is okay, you can glue the nut to keep it in place, but I don't recommend it because you may need to replace the kitchen sponge someday. To use it, simply drag the tool along the strings while using the elastic to hold the opposite side of the bolt. That's all! I hope this solution helps you. If you have any suggestions or create one, feel free to leave a comment or post a picture.
