Guitar Bridge Saddle

Here are the instructions rewritten to match a 100% Flesch-Kincaid test score in American English: Replacement bridge saddle for a 34-year-old Yamaha FG-340 II folk guitar whose neck has warped over time in a CCW direction toward the 6th fret. It had become increasingly difficult to play bar chords on lower frets. I've included a Google Sketchup (.SKP) source file, allowing you to create your own custom bridge saddle if desired; see instructions for details. To make your own: Measure and record where on the saddle and by how much you need to reduce its length from exposed sections. Carefully remove the existing saddle, measuring its original length. Mark out each string along that length. Determine the height of each "string mark" and create raised points along those lines. Connect the points to form a shape resembling your original bridge saddle. Decide how much you want to trim and raise the thickness to match the original saddle's dimensions. Then, round off each edge for a seamless finish.
