Guitar bookends

I created some custom bookends from a giraffe silhouette and incorporated my guitar into the design. I added musical notes afterwards to provide additional support for the guitar neck. The process of creating two axis slots was new to me, so it took some time to get it right. The bookends are made from 1/4 inch acrylic and were glued together using WeldOn #4. I used a 40W laser with speed 35, power 100, and four passes to create the design. The black parts of the bookends were engraved, while the blue was cut first, followed by the magenta lines in the second pass. The blue color adds visual separation from the guitar and musical notes. However, I made a couple of mistakes during this project. Firstly, I worked at zoomed-in levels for too long, which made the musical score lines appear sturdy enough. Unfortunately, they were quite thin when cut out, causing one to break when removed from the material. Secondly, I didn't use a jig or clay to support the guitar neck while the glue dried, opting instead to lean it against an overhanging book. This resulted in the neck angling out and not aligning with the body of the guitar on the other bookend. While this isn't noticeable with many books between them, it's quite apparent when there are three or fewer books.
