Guitar Body - '62 Fender Stratocaster
thingiverse
Some people have been asking me about how I obtained black epoxy. The truth is I didn't acquire it from anywhere else, but instead I added a few drops of Testors model paint while mixing the two part epoxy and it works fantastically! So far I haven't tried using other colors, but I can't think of any reason why this method wouldn't be equally effective. Update (07/19/2016): A picture was posted of the guitar body's rear side showing screw locations plus hardware; one spring only was used in this configuration. Update (02/27/2016): Bottom left component details without initials have been added to both STL and SolidWorks 2016 formats. This can then be printed with or without initials, or users can create their own designs using the provided SolidWorks file on the face. This project is a remix of Jon Stevenson's '62 Fender Stratocaster, which he showcased on tumbler.com at http://3dprintedguitar.tumblr.com. The original files by Jon can be accessed here: https://grabcad.com/library/snapfit-3d-printed-guitar-1. I was inspired to adapt these designs after seeing Jeff Campbell's Stratocaster model on GrabCad (https://grabcad.com/library/62-fender-stratocaster). I made adjustments to allow printing of the main components on smaller format delta printers and broke them into eight separate parts from Jon's six, also removing the lizard feature and adding my son's initials for this as a Christmas gift. Print Settings Printer: Delta printer home-built model Rafts: None were printed. Supports: Yes, they were printed. Infill: Twenty-five percent infill rate was used.
