This is a functional guiro that can be printed in 3D. The instrument is made up of three separate parts, with the largest piece measuring 161mm tall and 111mm in diameter. I have included a detailed drawing to help you determine whether it will fit within your printer's capabilities. My own model was successfully printed using PLA, and I see no compelling reason to use any other material. The guiro produces a clear sound and can be loud enough to cut through an 80-person wind band. I have made available the Fusion 360 file as well as a STEP file for anyone who might want to modify the design. However, changing the design in the Fusion file may cause it to become unstable due to some issues with surface recognition that Fusion occasionally encounters.
