After testing the new bracket for the filament reel, a critical issue emerged: the bearings I incorporated caused excessive rolling each time the extruder pulled the filament, resulting in unwarranted stretch and pronounced oscillation between the reel and the extruder. This revised piece addresses three key problems: it serves as a stabilizing guide to prevent filament movement, utilizes a sponge to effectively break the filament's tension, and cleans the filament as it is drawn down. I have designed two distinct fastening options for this piece: one that relies on adhesive bonding and another secured by screw, which requires drilling into the printer panel. In both variants, a sponge must be integrated, a path created for the filament, and the assembly bonded together with glue. To achieve optimal results, it is essential to adhere strictly to the recommended printing parameters to ensure a high-quality finish.
