MANDA Villa Frigerj - Chieti Guerriero di Capestrano - VI sec. a.C. The Guerriero di Capestrano is one of the most impressive works in Italian art. Discovered in the necropolis near Capestrano (AQ), the statue-stele depicts a warrior with insignia of the highest social rank (axe, long sword, reproduction of iron slashing swords). The bust is protected by disk armor; the pillars are adorned with two short throwing spears. On one side, inside a red-painted band, is the commemorative inscription that remembers the beautiful work created for a king whose name has been deliberately damaged in ancient times like the statue itself. Polo Museale dell'Abruzzo 3D Project The project, born in 2018, promoted and financed by Polo Museale dell'Abruzzo, was carried out by ARCHIMETRIA Group for the creation of virtual tours and 3D models of some masterpieces of Abruzzese art and archaeology.
