Gua Sha stone for Chinese deep tissue massage therapy
thingiverse
I hold a printed Guasha "tool" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guasha This technique has roots in Traditional Chinese medicine, delivering deep tissue massage that speeds up healing for weary muscles and tendons. It feels similar to the soothing sensation of rubbing your lower legs after spending a long day wearing tight socks or boots. This experience can be described as deeply tingly and incredibly satisfying. Users apply Guasha techniques to various areas such as legs, arms, and back. A small amount of oil or lotion is necessary for effective application - I personally use it in a fitness center steam room setting. The tool comes with multiple edge options: sharper and softer sides. With regular usage, the stone wears down gradually revealing diverse areas of edges at different degrees. I began using the softer edges but have since transitioned to the sharper ones as my tool's wear progressed slightly. Having previously imported these stones from Hong Kong, I find it more practical and energy-efficient to create them locally, taking advantage of the available resources and eliminating transportation costs altogether.
