Print the design upside down by using the M600 command for color changes. This method works regardless of printer quality, as color changes occur at 1mm level heights. I began with red filament until reaching the 1mm mark, then switched to black for the next layer and silver for the remaining top section. For contrast, I printed the bottom in silver. When using .2mm layers, color changes must happen every fifth layer (5 * .2 = 1mm), until completion. Some slicers automatically insert the M600 code; if your slicer doesn't, you'll need to manually edit the gcode file. To protect the coaster's surface from water and crud buildup, I recommend coating it with clear spray paint.
