Gteng FPV monocle mod
thingiverse
Basically, I've stripped down the GTENG Artifact FPV wrist monitor watch, removed its wrist straps, and encased it in a monocle setup attached to a set of safety glasses. Holes on the side of the main body serve as guide holes for cutting slots for Fresnel lenses, which can be found on eBay for pennies - I recommend using two for optimal focus and magnification levels. The parts are fastened together with M3 bolts (two 10mm for the eye piece to main body, four 5mm for the backplate). The glasses are attached with hot glue, but be cautious when using it as you won't be able to remove them without damaging something. Once the glasses are fitted, use some foam padding to achieve a snug fit around your eye socket and prevent light leakage. The whole setup weighs only about 50g, making it comfortable to wear without feeling like it's dragging your glasses off your face. However, I suggest using a safety cord from the arms around the back of your head to prevent the glasses from flinging off when you turn your head quickly. Remember that unlike full-face goggles, you can still use one eye to see, so you might forget you're wearing the monocle and turn your head too fast. Printer Settings: * Printer: Prusa XL * Rafts: No * Supports: No * Resolution: 0.3mm * Infill: 30% Post-Printing: I use this setup to fly my 250's, which are not slow frames, and I'm not a slow pilot either. Clear and accurate vision is essential during FPV sessions, and this setup more than adequately meets those needs. Once you've got it set up to your preferences, you'll be surprised at how well the GTENG performs in this design.
