GT2 tooth side belt clip
prusaprinters
I wanted to use smaller (16t) GT2 pulleys and idlers on my OpenBuilds gantries to increase the steps/mm on my X and Y axes. To get enough clearance inside the extrusion I needed the 3mm thickness the gantry plate took away, so had to route the GT2 belts underneath. This meant the tooth side of the belt was not facing itself in the normal easy-to-clamp way, so designed this clip to clamp it down but still be easy to remove or tighten. Seems to be sufficient as it is, but you could add a sleeve to slide on to the loose end of the belt and hold it to the toothed part of the clip. It's OpenSCAD, so you are free to modify to clamp to your own thing. Initially I found PETG to be too firm/brittle to flex sufficiently for the clip to go on without breaking so I have been printing these in ABS. I also reduced the edges that lock down the clip, so PETG or other materials may be ok now. I printed at 0.1mm layer height but probably will work fine at 0.2mm. Category: 3D Printer Parts
