GT2 tooth side belt clip
thingiverse
I wanted to upgrade my OpenBuilds gantries with smaller (16t) GT2 pulleys and idlers to boost the steps/mm on my X and Y axes. To get enough space inside the extrusion, I had to route the GT2 belts underneath the gantry plate, which took away 3mm of thickness. This meant the tooth side of the belt wasn't facing itself in the normal easy-to-clamp way, so I designed a clip that clamps it down but is still easy to remove or tighten. It seems sufficient as it is, but you could add a sleeve to slide onto the loose end of the belt and hold it to the toothed part of the clip. The design is OpenSCAD-based, making it free for modification to clamp to your own thing. Initially, I found PETG too firm/brittle to flex sufficiently for the clip to go on without breaking, so I've been printing these in ABS. I also reduced the edges that lock down the clip, making it potentially suitable for PETG or other materials now. I printed at 0.1mm layer height but probably will work fine at 0.2mm.
