GT2 6mm belt tensioner (M4 screws)
thingiverse
I was inspired by M3 Adjustable GT2 Belt Tensioner, but wanted to create a design using M4 screws that are more readily available in long lengths. The tensioner is made in two orientations, allowing it to be used depending on the available space due to belt orientation. Additionally, it uses a plastic cable tie to secure the part instead of plastic snapfit clips. The cable tie should be tightened on the sharp corner of the groove; please see the horizontal tensioners' photo with cable ties for reference. Update February 28, 2018 My metal core belts are significantly thicker than those made from fiberglass. I realized it wouldn't work with regular belts, so I created two versions of the part: a small gap version with a 0.9mm belt (see photos with dimensions), and a normal part with a 1.25mm gap that I use for steel core belts (see photos with dimensions).
