GT1 MBT The GT1 MBT is a main battle tank made out of a combination of different tanks I like, but redesigned in a very different way. This tank is designed with aspects of the Russian T-72, the Ukrainian BM Oplot, the Chinese Type 99A, the Israeli Merkava Mk.3, the American M60A3, the Polish PL-01 and the German Leopard 2A6.The body lay out is very close to a Russian T-72 with 125mm gun and automated carousel ammo rack in the middle of the tank. This is mostly because I like look of a rounded turret and the idea of having a tank that does not have an ammo rack on the back of the turret. For protection, it has 1000mm frontal armor and 900mm armor sides and 280mm around the back. It also has a 45 degree slope on the sides of the tank to direct fire at the ammo rack into the ground. This is also to make the vehicle safer from IEDs. Extra armor to around the ammo rack is also 700mm under the belly of the ammo rack to stop a bounce shot or IED exploding the ammo rack. However, the rest of the belly of the tank is only 200mm armor thickness. The roof of the body armor is 280mm. The body can also have 310mm skirt armor and cage armor towards the back of the vehicle to protect from heat rounds. The turret armor is a 1000mm around the main gun, 780mm to the front sides and 500mm to the back and 450mm to for the roof. However the turret also has composite armor around the sides of the main gun and blocks of composite armor around the back of the tank of 280mm with built in replicable NERA plates and ERA plats on the front around the main gun. The turret can also have trophy APS installed on the roof and also have optional cage armor on the back of the turret. Also the cannon has 20mm armor showed deflector around 33 percent of the barrel of the main gun. This tank comes in four different variants, GT1, GT1AC, GT2 and GT2AC. The GT1 form is your typical tank with 125mm main gun and a 7.62mm robotic PKT on the roof. The GT1AC is the same as the GT1 except it has a 30mm auto cannon next to the main cannon that can that can aim 45degrees higher than the main gun good for anti-aircraft work. Weight 46000kg, max speed 82km/hThe GT2 comes with skirt armor and cage armor around the body as well as cage armor around the back of the turret and optional trophy APC system on top. GT2AC is the same tank just with 30mm auto cannon next to the main cannon. Weight 51000kg, max speed 70 km/hNOTE: on printable model while the cannon slots in and can move up and down, the 30mm auto cannon is very brittle and is only glued in place and DOES NOT MOVE. Also note for game play purposes why you may want vs not want the auto cannon on your tank model: the auto cannon makes the tank more capable of outputting more damage, but having the gun in the turret means this is also a weak spot and a direct shot would result in injury to the gunner. Also the auto cannon is pretty brittle and can snap if you bump it, however it looks cool. Also note among the files for this tank include an alternative smoke launcher STL file. The alternative file is what is in some of my first renders and does look cool, but they are often annoying to print and glue on the vehicle so adding them is up to you. Size of model when completed 165mm length, 90mm width, 68mm high. Instructions to build this model can be found at youtu.be/DIvYXYY4_iE
