GSO WIFI DSC V2 (project pending modification. See my others DSC)
thingiverse
I'm working on a WiFi DSC for the GSO dobsonian telescope using an AS5600 sensor and ESP8266 board. Initial assembly requires the use of Alt_Adj and Az_Adj, which can be removed afterwards. The images show the first version of the device. It's very important to note that minimizing nonlinearity is crucial. This can be achieved by ensuring the sensor and magnet axes are perfectly coincident, using an axis tool for precise alignment. You can test this setup with alternative sensors like AS5040 or AS5045. The date 13/02/2020 marks a significant discovery: sensors were not centered on the PCB, which contributed to the problem. This will be addressed in the next version. Version 2, dated 30/01/2020, features a Cylinder Magnet with improved performance (6mm diameter and 2.5mm height). An axis adjust tool has been added for enhanced precision. The first version, dated 02/12/2019, employed three magnets on the shaft but still struggled with nonlinearity. Further development is pending until a suitable magnet is acquired.
